NY Times columnist Nick Kristof tear gassed in Bahrain

New York Times columnist Nick Kristof and Mr Adam Ellick were both tear-gassed and placed in the custody of the Bahraini police a protest in the town of Sitra on Friday while.

Live updates via Twitter deployed both journalists, not indented the officers as to their mobile phones. Ellick tweeted the photo on the left.

The Bahrain said Government, Kristof was arrested for his own protection, but the columnist who has criticised the Bahrain Government for its repressive tactics, was not so sure.

For its part tweeted Ellick that he "moved" and not allowed to leave the car.
